| ¡@The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) will sponsor the 4th International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and test (2008 VLSI-DAT) on April 23-25, 2008 at the Ambassador Hotel in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The conference program will cover a half-day tutorial and 2.5 days technical sessions including a plenary session and an invited industrial session. A number of invited speakers will share their up-to-date research results. ¡@The conference is proud to create a platform for technical exchanges and communications shared by experts from all over the world. The purpose is to bring together scientists and engineers actively engaged in research, development, and manufacturing on VLSI Design, Automation and test to discuss current progress in this field. ¡@Keynote Speakers for 2008 ¡@¡DWilly Sansen (K.U. Leuven, Belgium) ¡@¡@Topic : Efficient Analog Signal processing in nm CMOS Technologies ¡@¡DRandal E. Bryant (Carnegie Mellon University, USA) ¡@¡@Topic : Reasoning about Data: Bits, Bit Vectors, or Words ¡@¡DJanusz Rajski (Mentor Graphics, USA) ¡@¡@Topic : Logic Diagnosis, Yield Learning and Quality of Test ¡@The Best Presentation Award for the 2007 Symposium will be presented at the opening of the conference and an audience survey for the selection of the Best Presentation Award for the 2008 Symposium will be conducted during the conference. Starting 2008, the VLSI-DAT symposium will present the first Best Student Paper Award to one paper that is best-written and presented by a full-time student. The paper will be evaluated by technical committee members both on students' written papers as well as their oral presentations during the conference. The selected Best Student Paper Award will be granted in the next conference. ¡@Hsinchu is the semiconductor capital of Taiwan. Its science-based industry park is home to foundry giants TSMC and UMC as well as many world-leading fabless IC design companies such as MediaTek, Novatek and Sunplus. It is also the home city of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Tsing Hua University and National Chiao-Tung University. The VLSI-DAT is an excellent opportunity for VLSI Design professionals and researchers to meet together.
