The 2009 International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation & Test (VLSI-DAT) will be held in the Ambassador Hotel, Hsinchu, TAIWAN on April 27-30, 2009. Sponsored by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the semiconductor industry, the VLSI-DAT provides a forum for presenting new innovations and achievements related to VLSI design, automation, and test.
The 2009 VLSI-DAT will offer attendees a full-day of tutorials and two-and-a-half days of technical sessions including a plenary session, 3 special topic sessions and two invited industrial sessions in addition to the regular paper presentation and poster sessions. The 2009 VLSI-DAT will hold a joint-opening with the International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems and Applications (2009 VLSI-TSA). Joint keynotes from both design and technology fields will be given to all the audience in the joint-opening.
Keynote Speeches for 2009 VLSI-DAT
.Fang-Churng Tseng, Vice chairman of Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing Co., Ltd and Chairman of Global Unichip Corp., Taiwan.
(Joint Keynote)
Topic : The Future of Semiconductor Industry-A Foundry's Perspective
.Jan Rabaey, Professor and Director of Gigascale Systems Research
Center (GSRC) of UC Berkeley, USA.
Topic: Microscopic wireless-exploring the boundaries of ultra low-
power design
.Tetsuya Iizuka, Founder & CEO, Thine Electronics, Inc., Japan
Topic: Semiconductor Industry Prosperity with Deeper Horizontal
Collaborations
Spun-off from the influential 22-year-old International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems, and Applications (VLSI-TSA), the VLSI-DAT is proud to create a platform for technical exchanges and communications shared by experts from all over the world. The 2008 VLSI-DAT has successfully attracted nearly 400 attendees with a very high-quality program featuring 3 keynote speeches, 6 invited talks, over 60 technical papers, 3 tutorials on hot topics and 6 industrial talks. In 2009, the VLSI-DAT and the VLSI-TSA will be held again in the same week with a two-day overlap.
Hsinchu is the semiconductor capital of Taiwan. Its science-based industry park is home to foundry giants TSMC and UMC as well as many world-leading fabless IC design companies such as MediaTek, Novatek and Sunplus. It is also the home city of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Tsing Hua University and National Chiao-Tung University. The VLSI-DAT is an excellent opportunity for VLSI Design professionals and researchers to meet together. Hsinchu is only one-hour bus-ride away from Taipei, the real capital of Taiwan, where great tourist attraction is abundant. Join us at the VLSI-DAT to experience vibrant Hsinchu city in which the technical and cultural atmosphere have been harmoniously connected.
More VLSI-DAT information will keep in updating. For details about VLSI-TSA, please visit the website at http://vlsitsa.itri.org.tw |
