The VLSI-DAT was spun-off in 2005 from the influential 22-year-old International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems, and Applications (VLSI-TSA). 2 symposia were held jointly in the same week with two-day overlap. The 2011 VLSI-DAT has attracted more than 400 attendees with a very high-quality program featuring 3 keynote speeches, 1 joint session on Automotive, 4 invited talks, over 70 technical papers, 4 tutorials on hot topics and 8 industrial talks. In 2012, the VLSI-DAT and the VLSI-TSA will be held again in the same week with three-day overlap.

Original unpublished papers are solicited. Accepted papers will be published by the IEEE and be included in IEEE eXplorer after being presented in the symposium.

The 2012 International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and Test (2012 VLSI-DAT) will be held in the Ambassador Hotel, Hsinchu, Taiwan during April 23-25, 2012. Sponsored by Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and technically sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the VLSI-DAT provides excellent opportunities for close interaction between industrial and scientific researchers via presentations on innovations and achievements related to VLSI design, automation and test.

The 2012 VLSI-DAT will feature half-day tutorial and 2 and half days program including plenary session, industrial sessions, special topic sessions, regular paper presentations and poster session. Meanwhile, a joint-invited session will be co-organised by the 2012 VLSI-DAT and VLSI-TSA. Speakers from both design and technology field will give penetrating speeches to all audience. More details of the Symposium program will be released in January, 2012.

    Hsinchu City was the "Treading Center" of the near area. It is the first developed city of the north Taiwan.
